This is a short little piece of animation I did for SCJ, part of the fragrance collection by Glade: Daily Indulgences series.
I created a set of expressions in After Effects to automate color stripes generation and animation. There were about 10+ expression controls in the file, controlling attributes to the stripes such as color, width, height and random motion.
This is a demo video created for Avaya. The goal is to showcase their vision for the future stores/branches that are powered by Avaya communication technology.
The is a live-action + CG project. Live-action video was shot on a 5D MarkII with green screen; the CG environment was built in Maya.<!--
My roll in the project started with creating storyboards and looking for a style treatment. After the script and the animatic were sign-off by the client, I move on to the CG side of the development./-->

This loop-able sun animation is solely generated with After Effects FX filters.
This is the first time I successfully using a linear 32bit rendering and compositing workflow. Openexr is indeed a beatifully crafted image format. Without it, it was impossible to light this shoe in time. Floats allow me to fine tune the shader and lights in post. Save me a great deal of time.
AS3.0 + Papervision 3D. It took me a while to figure out how to update Flash with the latest version component. Other than that, Papervision 3D seems pretty easy to manage.
I have tried many different ways to optimize Maya's occ pass.
In this experient, I store regular occ, reflective occ, and world normal_y in the RGB channel. 3 difference occ in one render pass. you can read my Blog for more information.
One of the most challenging parts of the project is to bridge Flash and Maya together and create this text animation. First we generated text data from a image in Flash, then port those data into Maya with MEL script. With all the text created as sprites, we can animated them however we want to create cool transition from one image to another.
